Idaho Trip 2009

This Idaho trip was a much needed vacation and we couldn't wait to take a break from our busy lives! My parent's have been planning this trip for a long time and we were so excited to go! We packed up our stuff early Thursday morning and headed out on the 4 1/2 hour drive to Victor, Idaho. We had a ton of snacks, books, toys, and our beloved Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on tape (I will never go on another drive without a Harry Potter book on tape). Both kids did really well on the drive and slept for a good portion of it and Landon and I were immersed in Harry Potter. Well, our good luck couldn't last too long I guess, because we realized that we had headed 45 min in the wrong direction!! Instead of going to Pocatello we were headed to Boise which was definitely the wrong way! So, we turned back around and finally made it to Victor an hour and a half later then we had planned. The second we pulled in though, the long drive was forgotten because the house we were staying at was beautiful and located on a gorgeous private golf course. The scenery was literally breathtaking and we were surrounded by mountains covered with gold, yellow, green and red trees!

The first night we got there the kids were a mess after eating a ton of food in the car so we put them in the bath (which was so deep) and they were loving playing with the water coming out of the faucet.

The next day was spent waking up to waffles, taking a ton of walks, golfing, hot tubbing, and taking a drive up to Grand Targhee.

Sweet Mary Alice was a lifesaver the whole trip. Jack was her little companion. She even put Jack to bed every-night and didn't mind sharing a bed with him! What would we do without you Mimi!

Holly and Jack loving the hot tub!

When we got to the top of Grand Targhee we walked around a little bit and Jack LOVED the snow!

On Saturday we decided to spend part of the day in Jackson Hole. We first stopped at Bubba's Barbecue for some lunch. Here is the whole fam (minus CJ and Scott) at Bubba's.

Avery loved the corn on the cob!

After Bubba's we all went shopping around downtown Jackson Hole and ended the day with some ice-cream. Here is Ryan and Ty with Jack. We also celebrated Ryan's 16th birthday in Idaho!

Jack was in complete Heaven with all of the walks, hot tubbing, golfing, and playing with Mary that he could get. I loved the amazing food that my mom made and all the fun rounds of Banana Grams that we played. Landon loved the golfing and not having to worry about work. Avery loved all the wide open spaces and that she could just cruise around all over the place. The weather was sooo perfect and we loved spending time with the family! It was the best trip ever!!
