Trinidad last days

Our last few days in Trinidad were spent enjoying the beautiful coastal town. We went to the cutest little diner for breakfast right on the edge of the ocean. It was in a little alcove surrounded by rocky cliffs and a small little beach. You could walk down a dock and it opened up into a bay full of fishing boats. I felt like it was something you would see long ago.  After a delicious breakfast, we hiked down to the little beach and the kids loved pretending that they could control the ocean. It was so cute watching them wave their hands back and forth as the waves would come in and out. It was a warmer day so it was fun to be in the water without feeling way too cold.

Later that afternoon we took some boogie boards and sand toys to Trinidad State beach and the kids braved the icy water and used the boogie boards a few times. Sadie loved crawling in the sand and surprisingly didn't try eating it but just loved feeling it with her hands. A wave caught us by surprise and came and drenched Sadie and my backpack and that's when we called it a day haha!

Our last day of the trip we drove out of Trinidad and headed back towards Oregon. On our way, we stopped at a redwood state park. This is was probably the highlight of the trip! We got to hike through the most amazing redwood trees and we were seriously in awe the whole time. The best word I can use to describe the redwood trees is majestic. These huge massive trees are just incredible. We rode the sky trail through a forest of redwoods up to the top of this lookout point and it was so cool. We were surrounded by thick green trees the whole ride. Definitely one of the coolest things we have done. This trip was one for the books! I'm so glad we branched out from our normal Disney trips and did something new and exciting. The scenery in these pictures need no words. Some of my favorite pictures I have ever taken.
