We had a little bird who had a hurt wing living in our backyard for a few days. The bird's mom would come and feed him and the kids loved watching him. Jack was a little concerned for the bird and he kept asking why the bird couldn't fly. Well, I saw these little wooden bird houses at Wal-Mart a few days later and thought it would be a fun project to paint them and hang them up for the birds. Jack was able to make a connection that we were making a house for the little hurt bird outside and he was so excited. It was a super fun project! (The bird houses were obviously too small for a bird to actually live in but they still looked super cute hanging in my tree...)
And, on a totally random side note, I have been wanting to post a picture of this drawing Sue's sisters had done for a mother's day gift. Isn't it beautiful! Supposedly the guy who drew this draws portraits of the prophets.
