4th of July weekend...continued

Sunday night we had a barbecue with the Taylor's.  Grandpa Steve has a fun slip n' slide and a little pool so the kids had a fun time playing in the water.  Jack loved the slip n' slide and uncle Blake was so nice to play with Jack and take him sliding down the slide on his back.

On Monday we decided to head to the zoo.  Avery has only been one time when she was a baby so we knew she would love it! She gasped and laughed at every animal she saw.  It was the cutest thing ever.  Even though Jack was a little stinker and cried for a good half an hour of the trip (we finally had to strap him in the stroller and let him calm down...poor guy) seeing Avery's reactions to the animals was worth all the hassle we had with Jack.  We decided we will be taking Avery to the zoo alone without Jack...

We bought this backpack/leash thing at the zoo (we thought it would make things easier with Jack...not so much). Well, Jack refused to wear it and freaked out so we decided to put Jack in the stroller and let Avery wear the backpack.  She didn't mind it one bit (I was a little embarrassed to have her wear it though, we probably wont use it again)

My poor Jack, the zoo is not the place for him.  We did finally let him "run around" when we got to the park area and he was loving it.

Grandpa Steve and Jessica came along too and helped us out a lot by pushing the stroller and carrying Avery.

Check out the giraffe's tongue...so weird.

We ended the trip with some ice cream and it was delicious!  I really love the zoo.  We can't wait to take just Avery back...
