St. George Spring Break-Day 1

I had been planning this trip for months so when the day came to say we were excited is an understatement!  We were thrilled!  I had done most of the packing the day before so the day we left all we had to do were a few final things and then we were off!  It was smooth sailing. Our drive down was pretty uneventval. The usual. "Are we there yet?" a million times but other than that the kids were pretty good.  We stopped off at the coolest rest stop!  There was a little mini zoo with some crazy animals. There were baby deer, peacocks, ducks, chickens and....zonkeys!  A zonkey is a mix between a zebra and a donkey. So weird!  They looked like donkeys with muted black and white stripe legs. Crazy!

After a quick 4 hour drive we made it our rental and fell in love with it!  The kids unpacked their bags and immediately put on their swim suits and got in the pool. They swam the whole afternoon. The mermaid tail, basketball hoop, goggles and diving rings the kids got for Easter were used the whole time!  That water basketball hoop was especially brilliant (if I do say so myself...). All four kids loved that thing!  We barbecued hamburgers for dinner and Grandpa and Debbie joined us. Later we had smores for dessert with toasted coconut marshmallows. Yum!  It was a dreamy night. Perfect way to start our trip.
