I was really excited for Alpine Days this year. I have always loved Alpine Days but this year was extra special because we were actually Alpine residents! I am an Alpine girl through and through and I love that my kids get to grow up in the same place I did.
We went to as many activities as we could.
We went to the Monday night food truck roundup and outdoor movie, animal show, foam party, Friday night rodeo, toddler trot, grand parade, quilt show and my kids spent 6 hours at the carnival on Saturday! We had a blast!
The highs: My kids are usually scared of parades but this year Jack LOVED every second of it! I kept hearing him say this is so so fun! Haha! Snuggling up with my big kids as we watched Paddington late at night at the park. Running into some friends at the rodeo who let my kids sit on their beautiful horse king. Getting to the food truck roundup and not having to wait in any lines (I was told some people waited for hours...) Watching my kids laugh and laugh at the pet show. Watching Miles run around the block at the toddler trot and to see how proud he was to get his ribbon. Letting the big kids just do their thing at the carnival for hours and hours. Finishing my quilt (that took 2 years to finish) in time to enter it into the quilt show. Sitting with my family at the parade. It brought back good old memories.
The lows: After buying all the tickets, Landon let me know that he was going to be out of town for most of Alpine Days...not cool. Chasing 4 kids around very crowded parks. Hiking to the rodeo grounds in sandals. Enjoying the rodeo for 20 minutes before getting soaked during a torrential downpour that sent most of the crowd running for their cars! Not really planning well for the rodeo and trying to keep my poor soaking wet, freezing cold and shivering baby warm. Saving seats on the wrong side of the street during the parade. We were getting baked by the sun! Chasing around my shirtless three year old at the quilt show who was dodging under quilts and almost knocking them down. All enjoyment lost... All in all we had a really good time! I just want to remember some of the lows and look back and laugh!
