To get the kids excited about the olympics we had a little olympics party. We had the opening ceremonies, a gymnastics competition, a bike race, a basketball game, and a ring toss game. They got either a gold, silver or bronze medal at the end of each competition. They LOVED it and needless to say they have loved watching the olympics on TV. Jack is a little brain and knows all the different countries by their flags. He is really into who is competing against who and his favorite events have been swimming and diving. Avery has loved watching gymnastics and she is always putting on her leotard and does cart wheels all over the house. I have loved watching gymnastics and beach volley ball. I have an olympics app on my phone that tells me who wins before I even watch it so I don't get so stressed out watching the real thing :) My favorite time of day has been from 7 to 11 when I can sit in front of the TV and watch some seriously amazing athletes! Why can't we have the olympics every year?!
