We started out celebrating the 4th with the Stadium of Fire! My sister watched the kids while Landon and I went and we had such a good time. It was my first time going and I was really impressed. We loved Brad Paisley and the amazing fireworks!
On Sunday we celebrated with my family because my dad and sister had to leave on Monday for a soccer camp. We had a delicious barbecue, went to the park, and took a nice family walk. Later when it got dark we lit some fireworks!
We thought the kids might be old enough to not freak out about the fireworks but no luck... (good thing we didn't take them to the stadium of fire)
On Monday Landon ran the Freedom Run and then we went swimming with Blake, Mandi and Browen. Later we went over to Grandpa Steve's house and had a barbecue. We set up a slip and slide and the kids were loving it!
Here is Jack chewing his food...but his eyes! I seriously can't tell what color they are. Grey, green, blue, yellow?
This is what happens when Avery hears anything that sounds like a firework. Her hands instantly go to her ears and she says she wants to go inside...
When we came home we tried doing some sparklers and smoke bombs but our neighbors were doing fireworks so the kids would not come outside. We ended up putting a movie on for the kids and Landon and I sat outside and watched the amazing fireworks our neighbors had.
We had a little bit of rain but luckily it didn't last long! (Avery all puffy eyed after crying about the fireworks but when she brought her umbrella out she kinda forgot about the fireworks...)
