When we first thought about going to Aulani we loved the idea about staying at the resort the whole time and just enjoyed everything it had to offer. After about half way through the trip I panicked and thought we flew all the way out here we better go see some more of Hawaii. We deiced to rent a car and explore some of Oahu for a day. We didn't want to go over board because the kids mostly wanted to stay and swim but we did a few fun things. We went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation which was the perfect little spot to explore. We rode the pineapple train and ate a bunch of yummy pineapple flavored food! We also drove up the north shore and found a spot that wasn't crowded. We got out and let the kids play in the water for a while. We soon found out why our spot wasn't crowded though....basically 10 steps away from the beach where the kids were swimming was a huge drop off. Landon got into play with the kids and he basically had to start saving their lives from getting sucked under into the drop off. I was laughing my head off but he was so stressed out that we decided to leave early! We headed back to our safe Aulani and decided that staying at the resort the rest of the trip was the best way to go haha!
